Volunteer in the CommunityVolunteers Work on a Second Saturdays Project

For individuals and small groups not ready to launch a project, ACM is skilled in aiding you to find a place in our area to “give back” through volunteering in one of ACM initiatives or in one of the many agencies and ministries with which we collaborate on a regular basis. In fact, we maintain current awareness of scores of needs and opportunities for volunteering on a one-time basis, as well as on a more regular schedule throughout the year.

If you or your group wants to find a place to volunteer and would like ACM to assist you in finding the best place, here are the steps:

  1. Download ACM’s “Volunteer in the Community” questionnaire.
  2. Fill it out for yourself or as a summary of your group’s preferences.
  3. Email, fax or send the questionnaire to ACM.
  4. We will then review it, compare it with our database of opportunities and contact you with two or three best opportunities to choose from or to discuss further refinement of your preferences.

Some examples of recent volunteer placements we have made include teaching English as a Second Language, mentoring at risk young men, tutoring children on a Saturday morning, and finding families who need help at holiday times.

Some ministries/agencies into which we have recently placed individuals and groups include Moncrief Ministries, The Salvation Army Red Shield Center, The Atlanta Union Mission, Young Gunz (ACM project), Second Saturdays (ACM project), Love-All Tennis (ACM project), Men’s Ministry (ACM project), Holy Innocent’s Episcopal Church, and the Albert T. Mills Enrichment Center.

So, get started today. Download and fill out the questionnaire now!
