Start a New Ministry
How to Begin a New ACM Ministry
Atlanta Community Ministries (ACM) has a vision to transform our community by mobilizing Christians to get “out of their seats and into the streets”. We seek to multiply the number of compassionate Christians ministering in metro Atlanta. ACM empowers creative volunteers to meet human needs and spiritual needs by building ministries around volunteers' gifts, talents, abilities, and interests. We encourage unconventional thinking and believe everyone has exciting, untapped potential to meet the needs of our city.
ACM desires to meet the needs of the "down and out" as well as the "up and out." Everyone has a need, whether it is for community, food/clothing/shelter, a sense of purpose in life, education, feeling of significance, or employment. All are valid needs that can only be met through association with other people.
While meeting these needs, the team leaders and volunteers of ACM find ways to express the significance of their own relationship with Christ. We know that meeting their human needs can only satisfy someone temporarily. Introducing them to Christ, however, makes an impact for all eternity.
If you are considering and praying about beginning your own ACM ministry, here is how ACM helps:
- We provide you with a “Start a Ministry Questionnaire” which helps you to think through and describe for us major factors in your project.
- After we review your questionnaire, ACM staff meets with you to discuss and refine your proposal.
- Then we work with you to make your launch, your on-going activities, your team development, and your spiritual and financial support a reality.
So, contact us today and join our 24 other initiatives which are led by ACM volunteer team leaders.
Note: Most of ACM's ministries are volunteer led. If you are starting a 501(c)(3) or already have one and need capacity building help, investigate ACM's partner the Lead Institute.
