The “Most Needy Project” of ACM

Dear Friends of ACM,

For about a year, ACM has been laying the foundation, doing the due diligence, and piloting a very exciting ministry to aid some of “the least, the last, and the lost” of our city. It is called the Most Needy Project (MNP).

Initial donors helped lay the groundwork for this new ministry, MNP. Under the leadership of Tula Blackwelder and me, we have been working in Metro Atlanta to discover those organizations/ ministries which feed, clothe, and house the poor while also helping the willing come to know Christ personally.

As a result, we have been able to aid a significant number of such groups financially and enable them to both continue and expand their ministries to their clients. It is clear from our Lord in both Old and New Testaments that a primary responsibility of those who follow Him is to minister and aid the physically poor in both material ways and spiritual ways. Two passages out of many carry this home: “If you have not done it unto the least of these…you have not done it unto me” (Mt. 25:45), and “Is this not the fast which I choose…to loosen the bonds of wickedness…to divide your bread with the hungry…to bring the homeless poor into the house…” (Is. 59:6-7).

Through launching this project, we in ACM have been extremely committed to the rightness of the enterprise within ACM; and we desire to continue and improve it. Because our initial start up costs were so well funded, we are now ready to accelerate our efforts and to launch new related initiatives. To accomplish this, we must appeal to our larger donor base—to those of you who share the same heart to touch the most materially bereft of our city. As one man who was a recipient of MNP’s help said to us last year: “I highly appreciate you helping [us] homeless this way…you really must have God in you to do something like that!”

If you are concerned, as I am, that we who name the Name of Christ expand and deepen ministries to the poor, I appeal to you to make a generous contribution to the Most Needy Project today. ACM’s ability to go forward with this plan will directly depend on these funds.

To give, simply go to our online donation page and choose the Most Needy Project (one time) or (monthly) donations, or make your check to ACM and send to ACM; 7 Piedmont Center; Suite 420; Atlanta GA 30305. Put MNP in the “For” section of the check.

I feel sure many of you want to help in this way, but perhaps have been unsure of how to do so. I believe that giving to the Most Needy Project is one sure way that your investments touch both human and spiritual needs of people. Charlotte and I are so committed to this project that we are increasing our giving to ACM above and beyond what we normally would give to help fund this. I’d like to ask you to consider doing the same.

Thank you for considering expanding this important ministry to the needy residents of Atlanta.

Sincerely in Christ,

Dan Hayes
Executive Director
